It hasn't happened and won't happen again in over 100 years!
Look up in the sky today, June 5th 2012, when the Sun sets for a pretty neat light show, as the plant Venus will be passing through the Earth and the Sun at the same time.
Venus will appear as a small black dot gliding across the disk of the sun. As in a solar eclipse, do not stare directly at the sun; wear special protective glasses.
